Change in Venue to Youth Ice Fishing Day – Feb 7th, 2015

learn-to-fish-logoChange of Venue for Upcoming Ice Fishing Event – Changed from Swan Lake to Beaver Lake

A drop-in Learn to Fish program that was previously to be held at Swan Lake Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. has now been moved to Beaver Lake due to safety concerns regarding the integrity of the ice. Due to recent weather changes within the Okanagan Valley the ice quality has rapidly diminished on Swan Lake. The organizing groups agree that family safety is the utmost priority for this event. The ice conditions at the higher altitude lakes such as Beaver Lake are still ideal.

“Besides the change of venue, all event details remain the same and the organizing groups are still expecting an excellent turnout of participants.”

As previously mentioned in new releases, BC Fishn Media, the B.C. Wildlife Federation, and multiple Okanagan fish and game clubs are partnering with the Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C. and the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources to help grow the Learn to Fish program.
